Driving sustainable water and energy solutions through innovation, expertise, and commitment to excellence
From a small engineering consultancy to a leading solutions provider in East Africa
Lanche Engineering Limited was established in 2019 as a specialized engineering services and consulting firm focused on addressing Kenya's pressing water and energy challenges. Our founders, a group of passionate engineers, recognized the growing need for sustainable solutions in these critical sectors and set out to create a company that would combine technical excellence with practical, affordable implementations.
In our early days, we operated from a modest office in Nairobi with just two engineers and a shared vision. Our first projects were small-scale residential water systems and solar installations, but even then, our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction set us apart. Word of our reliable services and innovative approaches quickly spread, leading to rapid growth in our client base.
By 2021, we had expanded our team to include five specialized engineers and several skilled technicians, allowing us to take on more complex commercial and institutional projects. Our reputation for delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality earned us contracts with county governments and major hospitals.
In November 2022, marking a significant milestone in our journey, we officially incorporated as Lanche Engineering Limited, a move that reflected our growing capabilities and commitment to long-term operations. This transition allowed us to access larger projects, establish strategic partnerships with equipment manufacturers, and expand our service offerings to include comprehensive project lifecycle management.

We envision a future where our solutions bridge the gap between resource scarcity and sustainable development, creating a tangible difference in people's lives while contributing to environmental conservation on a continental scale.
Our long-term aspiration is to become the go-to engineering partner for governments, institutions, and private entities seeking reliable, affordable, and sustainable water and energy solutions that stand the test of time while adapting to evolving technological landscapes.
To develop and implement cutting-edge water and renewable energy solutions that address the pressing needs of our time while anticipating future challenges. We are committed to delivering customized, cost-effective systems that maximize resource efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and improve quality of life for individuals and communities across Africa.
Through continuous innovation, rigorous quality standards, and genuine partnership with our clients, we strive to make sustainable water and energy access not just a privilege for the few, but a reality for the many. Our mission extends beyond installations - we aim to educate, empower, and create lasting value through every project we undertake.
The measurable goals that drive our operations and decision-making
Provide affordable, reliable water systems encompassing design, installation, servicing, and maintenance for efficient water distribution, harvesting, conservation and management. Our goal is to reduce water wastage by 40% in all systems we implement while ensuring 98% system uptime for our clients through proactive maintenance programs.
We aim to develop at least three innovative water conservation technologies annually and train 500 local technicians in water system maintenance by 2025.
Deliver affordable, reliable solar energy solutions that promote access to efficient, cost-effective, clean renewable energy. Our target is to install 10MW of solar capacity annually by 2025, reducing carbon emissions by an estimated 15,000 tons per year through our projects.
We're committed to developing hybrid energy solutions that combine solar with other renewables, with a focus on increasing energy access in rural areas where only 30% of the population currently has reliable electricity.
Provide comprehensive training and consultation services to build local capacity in water and solar energy systems. We conduct quarterly training programs for clients and community members, aiming to train 200 people annually in basic system maintenance and operation.
Our engineering apprenticeship program has already graduated 15 young engineers, and we plan to expand this initiative to include technical colleges across Kenya by 2024.
Establish collaborations with equipment manufacturers, financial institutions, and development agencies to facilitate project funding and technology transfer. We currently maintain partnerships with 12 international equipment providers and 3 microfinance institutions.
Our goal is to create an equipment leasing program by 2024 that will make our solutions more accessible to low-income households and small businesses.
Advocate for government policies and corporate collaborations that enable sustainable water and energy access. We participate in 5 technical committees advising on national standards and regulations, and aim to publish two white papers annually on policy recommendations.
Our advocacy work focuses on creating enabling environments for renewable energy adoption and water conservation at both county and national levels.
Grow our operations across East Africa, with plans to establish offices in Tanzania and Uganda by 2025. We're currently evaluating partnerships in Rwanda and South Sudan to extend our impact to these emerging markets.
Our expansion strategy focuses on adapting our solutions to local contexts while maintaining the high standards that have made us successful in Kenya.

We achieve this through personalized service, proactive communication, and value-added offerings like free annual system check-ups. Our account managers maintain regular contact with clients even between projects, sharing relevant industry updates and checking on system performance. This approach has resulted in over 60% of our business coming from repeat clients and referrals.
We measure our success by our clients' satisfaction, not just project completion. Our comprehensive satisfaction assessment process includes pre-project expectation setting, mid-project check-ins, and post-project reviews. While we strive for perfection, we acknowledge that issues may arise - our differentiator is how we respond. Our 24-hour response guarantee for critical issues and no-questions-asked follow-up service have become industry benchmarks. We analyze every piece of feedback to continuously improve our processes and service delivery.
Our solutions are designed with long-term environmental, economic, and social impacts in mind. We conduct lifecycle analyses for all major projects to ensure minimal environmental footprint.
